Dublin is a fast-growing area occupying more than 23 square miles on the western side of the Scioto River. Situated at the northwest corner of Franklin County, about 25 minutes from downtown Columbus, it is surrounded by farmland. This makes it a prime area for new residential developments.
The largest and best-known of these developments is the affluent planned community of Muirfield Village, designed and developed by Columbus native, Jack Nicklaus. Muirfield is built around two country clubs. One of these, the Memorial Country Club, is the site of the annual Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour, which attracts thousands of visitors each year. In addition to the country clubs, there are two pools for residents' use and extensive bike paths throughout Muirfield and the entire city of Dublin.
Homes in the Dublin area are priced from $150,000 to about $1 million, and include a wide variety of single family dwellings, condominiums and patio or cluster homes.
Dublin has an ever-expanding school system that enjoys a good reputation. It encompasses 10 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 2 high schools, including the brand new Dublin-Scioto High School. Several elementary schools offer multi-age classrooms and the high schools offer a wide range of athletic and other extra-curricular programs. Most noteworthy is Dublin's new state-of-the-art recreation center, which includes two indoor pools, a gym, track, weight room and classrooms for art an other programs. An annual membership for a family of 5 ranges from $420 to $650, depending on whether you live in the city of Dublin or the Dublin School District.
